Summer has officially reached Acadiana - long, hot days interrupted only by daily afternoon thunderstorms, and things are quieting down as festival season comes to a close and folks get their last helpings of crawfish. But that’s no reason to stop the music! This Summer has a few exciting things waiting in the wings - particularly the celebration of Clifton Chenier’s 100th birthday on June 25th, and all of the accompanying excitment surrounding it. We here at Valcour Records are very excited for our upcoming release, ‘A Tribute to the King of Zydeco’ and can’t wait to share somee more exclusive content from that project with you in this month’s episode (see below in Langniappe!) But our main story tonight also covers an event that keeps the heat going all Summer long - the monthly Creole French Table & Jam at the Feed & Seed in Lafayette, LA. This celebration of Creole culture is truly one of the things that makes our community special, and they’re doing their part to keep tradition alive. Allons!
